OUR PROCESS

Partnering with biblical local churches to build biblical local churches

By partnering with local churches of like faith & practice, KBM will be able to effectively implement the work represented by GospelGo, GospelPlant, GospelTrain, and GospelSafari. This way we’ll ensure that new believers in the Lord Jesus are being cared for by trustworthy hands and that they’re receiving the spiritual nourishment they so desperately need (1 Pet. 2:2). By the Lord’s grace, KBM will be able to participate in the planting and building up of healthy, biblical local churches in Kenya in obedience to our Lord’s command (Matt. 28:16-20).

Scroll down to learn more about KBM’s process.

1. Gospel outreach in areas near local churches

Evangelize in public schools and universities located within a five-kilometer radius of a church of like faith and practice. In most cases, those who are doing the evangelizing will be non-Kenyan Christians who are in Kenya on a GospelSafari.

2. Discipling new converts

Those who respond to the Gospel will join home Bible studies led by Kenyans from the church of like faith and practice. The Bible study utilizes the four-week Exchange Bible Study curriculum, and will also explain from Scripture baptism and church membership. After completing the curriculum, those in the study will be invited to be baptized and to join the local church.

Additionally, the students who respond to evangelism campaigns held by GospelGo will be prompted to join these Bible studies through automatically-generated SMS messages.

3. Planting new local churches

By the Lord’s grace, local churches will grow not only spiritually but numerically as a result of the ministry of GospelGo. When these churches grow beyond the capacity of their facilities, rather than building new facilities, they will move to the next phase of the process, which is GospelPlant.

In this phase, the churches that have grown will commit three families from their membership who will join in planting a new church more than ten kilometers away from their current location.

4. Training qualified leaders

The training of qualified leaders—GospelTrain—supports the work of KBM in two distinct ways:

First, GospelTrain prepares the laypeople of churches participating in GospelGo for leading the Exchange Bible Study and for explaining baptism and church membership.

Second, GospelTrain provides a four-year internship program, providing practical ministry experience under the oversight of KBM for men who are called to the senior pastorate who will simultaneously earn a Master of Divinity degree. Upon the completion of their degree and internship, once a GospelPlant church has an opening, one of the men will be plugged into the pastorate of that church (should the congregation vote to accept him).

KBM will continue to provide oversight and mentoring for these men and their families for their first four years in the pastorate.
